About us
Westwood Energy Partners is a manager of credit investments in the energy and infrastructure sectors. We were formed in 2021 to manage a $3 billion oil and gas loan portfolio acquired by Sixth Street Partners and Oaktree Capital Management from ABN AMRO. Prior to founding Westwood, our team of professionals was part of the U.S. Energy corporate and investment banking team at ABN AMRO.
Who we are
Our team brings significant experience originating and executing transactions across the energy sector, including oil and gas, renewables, energy services and energy transition. Our founding objective is to help energy companies gain access to strategic, solution-oriented capital to achieve their objectives. We aim to provide debt and/or equity-linked financing solutions to companies in the North American energy sector.
We work to provide medium-term to long-term liquidity and development capital in a variety of structures, seeking to customize terms to the specific needs of each company or existing circumstances / characteristics. This includes:
Upstream oil and gas – first lien, funded, delayed-draw or revolving loans; second lien term loans; unitranche credit facilities; PDP securitizations; acquisition financing; limited royalty interest or working interest sales
Midstream oil and gas – first lien revolving credit facilities, construction financing, preferred equity
Renewables, energy transition and energy-related infrastructure, technology, and services – first lien debt, securitizations, Project Finance loans
In addition, Westwood is an active buyer of energy-linked credit facilities in the secondary market. We help financial institutions manage credit risk and exposure to oil and gas by acquiring direct (via assignments) or indirect exposure (via participations) to their loan portfolios.
